So…here’s another blog – I know they are coming quickly and often, and for that maybe I should say “sorry”! There has been so much to see, so many things to do and adventures to go on, that I feel like I have said TOO many words lately!
So on this post, I wanted to mostly share photos of the beauty and the fun things we have seen and done (and, of course, eaten!)..I’ll just give a little bit of info and then share photos so you can see for yourselves how beautiful and fun everything has been!
ENJOY!
We arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia and got set up at our new campground for three nights! Woodhaven RV park – peace and calm among the pine trees!

Day 1 – PEGGY’S COVE – we had been there one other time, and couldn’t wait to go see it again and show Bob and Bobbi the area – it’s such a unique place with great photo ops! It is a small rural town that is famous for its iconic lighthouse, beautiful coastline and picturesque working fishing village! I would say it may be Canada’s most photographed lighthouse and it’s a must visit place if you are ever in Nova Scotia!

One of the foods that is most popular in Canada is called the DONAIR – here is the history of it (from what I have read online) – a Greek immigrant named Peter Gamaoulakos started selling Greek style gyros originally made from a pork and lamb combination at a pizza shop in Halifax. It didn’t catch on with the public so he modified the recipe in 1972, using a spiced ground beef. It is served in pita bread and has a distinctive sweet DONAIR sauce made with condensed milk, vinegar, sugar and garlic. He wanted to get away from the name gyro because it hadn’t caught on, so he first called it DONER, but it came to be pronounced DONAIR.
A very popular place to get a DONAIR is Tony’s Pizza and Donair – right in the middle of downtown Halifax…of course we saw it on YouTube, so off we went in search of the popular sandwich! (well, Leonard was in search of it anyway…) After an Uber ride from the waterfront (my FIRST Uber ride ever!) we arrived!!!
Tony’s wasn’t much to look at (to say the least!) but Leonard and Bob agreed that the Donair was DELICIOUS!

DAY 3 – A trip to Mahone Bay and Lunenberg – two lovely little harbor towns with shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and of course, boats in the harbor! Enjoy the photos of both places – we sure had fun exploring them both!

Hope you enjoyed the photos and the (hopefully) short descriptions of each thing!!!
UNTIL NEXT TIME…
A lot of your photos would make great postcards.
Love, love, love the pictures & stories! Nearly any one of the pictures you post could be beautiful, framed, art photographs! The drone pictures are really cool!
&…NEVER a need to apologize!
As always-thanks for sharing!!! Have fun!
Such a beautiful part of the world!! Lots of beautiful scenery both man made and natural!! Great seafood too. Pier 21 was my mother’s parents immigration point in to North America in 1912… sure glad they came ( for obvious reasons!😉) Ha!! Travel safe…. Miss you guys.
What a small world, right!!!!!????
lol, My favorite is the injury or possible death have occurred to the careless traveler.
That should be made for prob quite a few places!
yes!!!
You could make a beautiful photo book out of the pictures alone! Love the drone shots.
Why are there miniature cows with long horn guy…..long horn? I think I answered my own question!
That pic of you and Leonard looks VERY familiar! Ha ha.
Hello Clawsby!
No apologies needed! Keep em coming!
you are hilarious! I do make a book for each year!
Great post. I love all the pictures! Looks like a place for our bucket list 😊
Wondering about all the wavy lightposts?
MK
I didn’t know how to explain the wavy lightposts – it was some “art” thing and they were supposed to represent things there in Halifax – like the one on the ground was a drunken person….it was weird! haha
Dave and I went to Peggy’s Cove while on a cruise to Canada several years ago. Loved it there. Did NOT see a man with a very long horn though!
We were there with a cruise before too and he wasn’t there for us either!
Those are fabulous photos!! I love the boats, fishing villages and churches. Gorgeous! Thank you for sharing God’s beauty with us.
You are welcome! Everything has been amazing!
Very cool. Any significance to the yellow houses and door?
And you found my yacht. I was trying to keep it hidden up there. 😃
you are hilarious!
Very picturesque, love it!
Great post but not enough words! ; ) Fab photos for sure and I do always love hearing your thoughts. Only problem is I need to taste some of these foods – especially those cinnamon rolls!
I wish everyone could taste these yummy things also!
The photos are all so beautiful!! Please do not apologize because it is through these photos and your lovely descriptions that we are able “to go along with you”, so thank you for taking the time and putting together an amazing collection of stunning photos!
Looks like a scene out of a movie!!
I totally agree with the comments above…so picturesque! Thanks for sharing! Enjoy!
