Well, it’s hard to believe it’s May and we are getting the trailer out of storage to begin our second annual trip across the country to see our kids in California!!!!!
We flew to Florida last week (yes, i got on an airplane!) and loaded up the trailer to head back here to PIttsburgh – on our way, we stopped in Forsyth, Georgia at a very nice KOA campground for the evening – it was just a six hour trip to to make sure everything worked okay on the trailer and with our truck! IT DID!!!
THEY DELIVERED WARM BAKED CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES TO OUR CAMPSITE, JUST TO SAY WELCOME TO THE CAMPGROUND!
The next day we packed the trailer back up and headed to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where we stayed for two full days and three nights – we were BLESSED to have a campsite right on the creek! WOW – the sound of that water was incredible – it reminded me of all the years we went camping in Gatlinburg when I was growing up – that sound is one of my favorites! It’s so relaxing – especially at night with the windows open in the trailer!
On Monday, we drove over the mountain from Gatlinburg to North Carolina to visit friends who have a GORGEOUS house on the mountain! We spent the whole day with them, catching up, enjoying the outdoors, eating delicious food, and just being together! What a blessed day we had!
The next day we just relaxed at the campground and then went into the park and had a picnic lunch at the Chimneys (a wonderful picnic area, again right on the rushing water!!!!)
This morning (Wednesday) we hooked up the trailer and back on the road we went – it was a long but GOOD day on the road back to PIttsburgh – just in time to get it ready again and leave in two days to start across the country! We are tired, but so looking forward to the trip – this year we are taking the “northern” route – our first stop is to see our daughter, Emily and her boyfriend, Kramer!! We can’t wait – we haven’t seen them since right before Christmas – we miss them! From there we will head towards California with some wonderful stops along the way !!
“STAY TUNED” as we start this second journey across the country – I love sharing it with you all and am SO thankful you are willing to come along!!!!
UNTIL NEXT TIME…..
