Hello again everyone!!! Well, it’s 2023 and we just went on our first camping trip of the season with our Airstream!
It is Spring Break for Leonard at Pitt, so we flew down to Tampa and got the trailer out of winter storage and headed over to St. Augustine for five days!
We went with two other couples here who also have Airstream trailers – it was so much fun traveling over there all together on the roads – I’m sure we were a sight to see with three trucks and three Airstreams, all in a row!
The campground – SUN OUTDOORS OF ST. AUGUSTINE – was beautiful, and our campsites were great! We were right at the front of the park, and we had three in a row – the campground had just added pavers to each sight, with beautiful landscaped areas in between. They were nice and roomy and the whole campground was so pretty!
St. Augustine is a very old city – it was founded in 1565 by Spanish explorers – so it is a beautiful and unique place for sure! We spent part of a day sightseeing and shopping! We had lunch at the Columbia Restaurant, which had DELICIOUS Spanish food! We’ve been to The Columbia at several different locations and it’s one of our favorite restaurants here in Florida!
We also took a scenic boat ride and saw the city from the water! It was a perfect day for the ride, and we had a great time!
It was a great few days back in the Airstream, and especially with good friends! My favorite part was just hanging out at the campground, catching up with each other, eating good food, watching the stars and moon at night, and building a campfire each night! It made us realize how much we missed our trailer!! We really HAVE become trailer people! haha
(BY THE WAY, THAT IS NOT OUR DOG – HIS NAME IS MILO AND HE BELONGS TO OUR FRIENDS, BOB AND BOBBI! Those of you who know me may have wondered…..haha!).
We will be heading out to California again in May – to see our kids and our TWO grandsons now – Miles Cole was born in October and we have only seen him once! I can’t wait to write about our adventures again, because this time we will be going a different way out to California and back! We can’t wait to see NEW THINGS! I look SO forward to sharing it with all of you!
Thanks for reading….it means so much!
Susan

We knew that the Dog belonged to someone else even though it looked real cute in Leonard s lap. Glad you had fun. We used to call ourselves Trailer Trash. Love you both
He DID look cute in Leonard’s lap! we hardly knew he was there because he only weighs 5 pounds! I love the title “trailer trash” – haha – not sure you can say that with an Airstream!
It is fun to read your adventures. I am looking forward to reading all about your summer trip.
