Today was the day we left the U.S. and headed into Canada! It was honestly a little “daunting” to think about crossing the border and being asked questions and feeling “interrogated” – I had watched several YouTube videos of people crossing into Canada and some people got asked a LOT of questions – The most frequently asked questions are “What is the purpose of your visit?” and “How long will you be in Canada?” Those were easy for us! We had also read the guidelines and found out we couldn’t have any fruits or vegetables in our trailer refrigerator, so we had salad – both green and fruit – the few days before we left!
As we approached the border and waited for our turn, we made sure we had everything ready…

We drove up and saw that our border agent was a young woman and right away she was so sweet and so kind! Her first words were “Bonjour!” Instantly I relaxed a bit because of her kindness! We were asked a few questions, and YES the two most asked were there also! The whole process only took about 1 minute and as we headed off, she said “Enjoy your visit!” …

We are in Canada!!!!!

On to the campground – we weren’t sure what the campground would be like – we never are until we pull up! – but as we approached it, it was obvious that it would be in the woods and may be quite rustic! The check in “office” was a little shed with a table and chair! BUT………

As we pulled up to our sites we realized how beautiful it was and the view outside of our trailer was awesome!

It’s such a peaceful campground and every morning and evening we look out the trailer door and marvel at God’s beauty in creation!

Part of our research for this trip was watching YouTube videos (my job!) and all of them talked about the Sea Caves in St. Martin, which is where the campground was! After we set up our trailers, we realized it was low tide, so off we went!
The Sea Caves are a popular place and we could see why !! The caves are sandstone, and they are carved by the Bay of Fundy tides…they were formed by the constantly changing tide cycle of Fundy Bay, which has the highest tides in the world!!! The water from all the rivers on earth that flows into all the oceans is actually equal to the amount of water flowing in and out of the Bay of Fundy in a SINGLE DAY!
(Thank you GOOGLE!)
During high tide, the caves are completely submerged – but at low tide, the landscape transforms into beautiful scenery – showing the caves and small streams! We timed it JUST right and enjoyed every minute!

After exploring the caves and the beach, we decided to have dinner at a little restaurant right on the beach (no surprise …it is called the CAVES restaurant!). The view was amazing and the food even better! The weather was perfect and ended up being one of our favorite adventures so far!

HERE ARE A COUPLE VIDEOS FOR YOU TO ENJOY!
After a wonderful night’s sleep with all of our windows open (my favorite!) we headed off to St. John, for a quick trip to the city market AND…..WAL MART! Haha!! We had to replenish all those fruits and vegetables we ate – it may sound silly, but it was fun to walk around Wal Mart in Canada to see what different things there were – it was different for sure and fun!
The City Market is a little food and crafts market that was fun to stroll through…Leonard found a little treasure that he had wanted to try – a PAL O MINE candy bar- it’s one of the oldest, continuously produced wrapped candy bars in North America – and is “shared between pals for 100 years”.

Honestly, it’s NOT worth the hype! haha
After putting groceries away and having a bit of lunch, we headed off to our last “excursion” that we had planned – a drive along the Fundy Trail Parkway – as we approached the gate to enter, we were informed that ALL of the trails were closed, as well as some of the overlooks – there have been lots of fires in Canada recently, which was the reason. We decided to do the drive anyway and see what we could see! It was WORTH it! Beautiful views again of God’s creation!

Before I close, here is one more photo of the view outside of our trailer as we fixed dinner on the last night…such a blessing!

Next stop….FUNDY NATIONAL PARK!
Until next time….
God’s handwork is simply amazing! Loved the pictures of the caves. They were so cool!!
You are right about His handiwork!
Those caves – gorgeous! Beautiful sandstone. I kept thinking hurry out of the before the tide comes back! 😂
i kept thinking the same thing about the tide! haha
The pictures are exquisite! Even the getting to your destination part of the trip is adventuresome!
The whole thing has been awesome so far!
Pretty spectacular! The east coast of Canada is beautiful…
It sure is pretty!
One part of me would want to go and explore inside the caves- – and another part of me would be TERRIFIED to go inside! I actually love reading autobiographies about spelunkers. So I’ll settle for living vicariously through them. The pictures are gorgeous. I’m happy for you.
They weren’t that deep so it wasn’t scary!
Beautiful! Looks like y’all had the area all to yourselves! Just wondering-did Hurricane Erin influence the tides?
