Well, our first two days are done and we are still alive and our trailer is safely tucked in at our campground in Checotah, Oklahoma!!! We left Bristol, Virginia Monday and today we went through Arkansas, and are already in OKLAHOMA! That’s crazy to me!
Monday, we stopped outside of Nashville, Tennessee, and had a very relaxing evening in the trailer! It was a KOA campground, and the woman who runs the place was adorable! I put two pictures in the photo gallery of some signs she had in the office when we checked in – they are funny! After a good night’s sleep, we pulled out from there at 9am and drove 8 hours to Checotah — when we arrived, we were greeted with a temperature of 107!!!!!! Picture in the photo gallery to prove it! 🙂
We saw some beautiful scenery on the way, and I even took a turn driving – two hours (sharing the road with MANY trucks) was all I could handle! We are all tucked in tonight, enjoying the cool trailer while outside it has cooled down to a mere 100 degrees!
Tomorrow we drive to Amarillo, Texas and I’m looking forward to that, too, because it’s a place I’ve never been! I’m sure it will be a lot cooler there – haha!
Hope ALL OF YOU are doing well and enjoying summer!!!
I added some other photos in the gallery showing some of our two day trip so far!
good night….
Love all the Pics. Is there a way to put a description with them? Loved, loved , loved both signs at the campground!!! Wish we were on this adventure with you guys.
Two hours on the road pulling your airstream and having other trucks all around you would be nerve wracking!!! You and Leonard are true road warriors! I am so glad you have the air conditioning to retreat to!!
Doesn’t look like you will be in 🎶Amarillo by morning 🎶 !!!
So glad to hear you are doing well, if not a bit toasty.
The rainbows are AWESOME!!! God’s promise!
This looks like the best adventure! Keep the posts and pictures coming!
You are amazing, Susan! I can just see you behind the wheels. When Tom and I were on the road going to Michigan to attend a wedding last weekend, we thought of you and Leonard every time we saw a truck pulling a giant trailer.
It’s so stressful driving but I am trying to help because this is a LONG way for Leonard to do all the driving!!! We are having fun!
You two are amazing! And born to be adventurers (and bloggers!!) I am loving your stories and pictures! I feel like I’m riding right next to you! Boy, we live in such a beautiful country!
Surrounding you with prayers and love!😘😘
